Driving with Polar snow chains

Before you go:
► Check your manual - Always check your vehicle manual for advice on using tyre chains
► Check the fit - Make sure your snow chains are the correct size for your tyres by fitting them before use
► Practice at home first - Get the hang of fitting and tensioning your chains on your tyres at home; it’s harder to learn in a howling blizzard
► Check your chains - Check before each use for any damage or faults 
► Check your tyres - Your tyres should be at normal road tyre pressure when using snow chains

Hitting the road:
► Steer away from the hard stuff - Don’t use chains on gravel or sealed roads
► Drive to the conditions - this means no more than 20kph 
► Keep it steady - Accelerate and brake gently

When you reach your destination:
► Clean your chains - Clean dirt, snow or ice off your chains after use, and leave chains out to dry
